Happy Holidays from the Bynum Aesthetic Dentistry team! We can barely believe the holiday season is upon us once again! The holidays mean a lot of different things to different people, to us it's a time for reaching out to others and giving back to our community and to those who deserve a helping hand. In the past our team together with our patients, has sponsored a family for Christmas and have blessed them with gifts of toys, books, and clothes. This year we have decided to switch things up a bit and help a very deserving class take a trip of a lifetime!
We have had the privilege to get to know a very special group of kids through J.L. Mann High School Academy. The school is home to a unique club of high school students called the S.P.E.C.I.A.L.S. (Students Pursue Exceptional Challenges in All Life Skills), who also happen to have moderate intellectual disabilities and/or orthopedic impairments and some are even medically fragile. Some of the students, who range in age from 14 to 21, are also disadvantaged socially and financially. Due to their low cognitive ability, these students do not have the opportunity to experience many of the fun and educational activities that most other students enjoy, we want to help change that!
In February 2015, the S.P.E.C.I.A.L.S. club is planning a trip for 28 students to Orlando Florida to visit Disney World. The students have been working hard through candy sales and school supported fundraisers, but they still need our help to reach their fundraising goal! We have set a goal of $2,500 to benefit the S.P.E.C.I.A.L.S. trip, and we would love to have our patients help us reach this goal!
We will be accepting donations during December and January to benefit the trip. We will also have Christmas plates and ornaments, made by the the students, available for sale in our office. If you are interested in learning more information, or to learn how you can donate please call our office at 864-297-5585 ext. 2
Thank you for considering helping such a great group of students, this trip would not be possible without the support of community neighbors and friends like you! We hope you and your family have an amazing holiday season and we look forward to seeing you all again in 2015!
